Hot on the heels on Sony initiating pre-orders for Bravia KD-X9000, LG has brought in its own 84-inch behemoth. This 3D TV can churn out images at 3840 x 2160px, or 4K resolution, and sound is played back through a pair of 15W woofers and 10W speakers. It uses passive glasses for 3D, converts 2D content into 3D, and it can upscale 1080p content to full supported resolution. The 84LM9600 packs the usual suite of Smart TV features, plus WiDi, and ‘Dual Play’ that serves up different frames to a pair of 3D glasses. LG is selling this set for about the same price as Sony, for Rs. 17,00,000, starting in November.
